Twenty Students Earn Recognition on National Latin Exam

Every year, more than 100,000 Latin students across the country take part in the National Latin Exam. This year 20 St. Andrew’s students were recognized for their achievements, led by Kayla Bhatia ’25 who earned Gold Summa Cum Laude on the Latin 5 - Advanced Latin Prose exam. 
Because of her score Kayla is eligible for the Maureen O’Donnell Scholarship for Academic Excellence which awards accepted students $2,000 to take Latin or Ancient Greek during their first year of college. 

Kayla wasn’t the only student to earn recognition in Latin 5 with Sophie Li ’26 earning Silver Maxima Cum Laude and Samine Bhatia ’25 being awarded Magna Cum Laude. In Latin 4 - Advanced Latin Poetry, Sasha Barnes ‘26 was Silver Maxima Cum Laude and Melissa Nugent ‘25 was Magna Cum Laude. In Latin 2, Sinjin Bromer ‘27 and Andrew Warmenhoven ‘27 were Gold Summa Cum Laude, Feyman Cai ‘28 and Alice Clark ‘28 were Silver Maxima Cum Laude, Matilda Hall ‘28 and Austin Love ‘26 were Magna Cum Laude and Piper Long ‘26 was Cum Laude. Colin Bamford ‘28 was Gold Summa Cum Laude in Latin 2 and in Latin 1, Izzy Levine ‘28 and Valen Cuddapah ‘28 were Gold Summa Cum Laude, Angelina Chen ‘28, Reese Hinkle ‘28, Gracie Jacobs ‘28, and Savio Rinaldi ‘28 were Silver Maxima Cum Laude and Lila Jones ‘27 was Magna Cum Laude.

Several Middle School students also were honored as Yau Chi W. ‘29 was Magna Cum Laude in Latin 2 while Jeffrey M. ‘29 was Magna Cum Laude and Helen H. ‘30 was Cum Laude in Latin 1B.
