News from Religion & PE Class
Religion
This past month of Religion class has been a great joy!  Students have space at the beginning of class to center themselves, share about their day, hug Judah the Lion, and add to our class prayer list anyone who is on their hearts that day.   As we begin to learn about what religion is, the stories religions tell through scripture, the questions religions are asking, and the traditions religions practice, we are also learning to think about and express our own stories!  Along with the themes at our weekly Chapel services, Religion class is a space where we can learn about the holidays our neighbors are celebrating, and how to be caring, kind, and curious about the spiritual paths of others.  There is a lot of fun to be had in Religion class, through coloring projects, class discussion, movement activities, and of course the occasional visit from Anglikitty.  It is an honor to learn more and more about each student as the weeks go by.

PE
At the beginning of the year, we launched our cooperative games unit, where students focus on developing essential skills such as fair decision-making, effective communication, and teamwork. Whether working with a partner or in a group, most physical education activities require cooperation, making this unit foundational for future success in P.E.

Following this, students transitioned to our chasing, fleeing, and dodging unit, where they practiced critical movement skills like spatial awareness, varying speeds, and directional changes. These skills are integral to many upcoming games and physical activities.

We have now begun our throwing and catching unit. Students are enhancing these abilities through engaging activities, with an emphasis on proper technique and skill execution. In particular, they are practicing both overhand and underhand throwing techniques, which are essential for a variety of sports and activities. The focus is on improving accuracy, control, and coordination through fun and interactive games.
Please ensure that your child comes to school in appropriate footwear on P.E. days and, as the weather cools, dressed in layers to stay warm.
